REVIEW FRIDAYS: Kama Ayurveda Organic Neem Oil!

Hey everyone!

Today I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the Kama Ayurveda Cold Pressed Neem oil. I have since long wanted to try this brand and finally got my hands on this oil when I run out of my previous one! This oil can be used on the face, the body as well as hair/scalp, however, I’ll be restricting my review to hair and scalp as I haven’t tried it on face or body.

Price: This retails for INR 675 for 200ml. You can buy it on

Packaging: This comes in a box packaging with neem leaves on it. The bottle is a plastic one with a green label and the cap is quite sturdy preventing leakage. The packaging has a luxurious touch to it.

My take on the product

When I think about this brand, the 1st thing that comes to my mind is something natural and luxurious to use. This oil is essentially an organic oil and is cold pressed ensuring that the properties of neem are contained to the fullest. Being cold pressed, this has very concentrated proportions of neem and therefore has to be mixed with a carrier oil which could be either sesame oil or coconut oil. I prefer to mix this oil with sesame oil. This oil has a greenish colour and to be honest, I dislike the smell of this, it just smells very bitter and terrible. However, I have been dazzled by this oil. I have been trying it for a couple of weeks now and it has actually reduced the flakiness on my scalp! My hair feels soft and I get no flakiness for about 3 to 4 days which is impressive.

Talking about the price point, this is quite expensive in comparison to the price but for me, it is worth the money. A single bottle would last for about 1.5 months considering that this needs to be mixed with another oil. This oil is organic and in its purest form which means there are no artificial fragrances added and that’s the reason it is effective! If you are looking for an oil that would reduce your flaky scalp then I highly recommend this!

The WOW of the product

  • Luxurious packaging
  • Works effectively on flakiness/dandruff
  • Organic and chemical free
  • Easily available

The NOT-SO-WOW of the product

  • Smells terrible
  • Expensive

Overall, it’s unpleasant to use because of the smell, however, this is a very effective oil. I would definitely recommend it if you’re troubled by a flaky scalp and I will repurchase this.

Hope you found this helpful!
